Enabling Affordable Housing

I will work to make more housing affordable for all Aucklanders by working with all stakeholders to enable the increase in housing supply, and ensure we have well-planned infrastructure in place for people-focused communities.

Moving Around Auckland

Auckland needs more reliable transport options for everyone to get around the region. I will seek greater and smarter investment in our public transport network and also deliver better value to ratepayers with improved traffic management plans, and energy efficiency across the transport and roading network.

Sustaining a Greener Auckland

Aucklanders love our parks, our maunga and our harbours. I will invest in initiatives to protect our environment, make our beaches more swimmable all year round, and push for creative, sustainable ways to increase our urban forest to manage heat, reduce waste, and make our city more climate resilient.

Stronger Communities

Every Aucklander deserves a voice in shaping our city’s future. I will work to ensure that our communities are connected, diverse and empowered where new revenue streams are possible and everyone has a stake in our shared success.

Auckland is a hub of economic growth for the nation. As Mayor I will support our local industries, attract new investment and new revenue streams, encourage more sustainable business opportunities, and attract new investment and seek job growth so all Aucklanders can thrive

Why Kerrin? A vision for a stronger, smarter Auckland, built for future generations.

If you’re ready for a different kind of leadership — honest, strong, and grounded in the needs of real people — then I ask for your support.

I’m Kerrin Leoni. I’m standing to be the next Mayor of Auckland because I believe in a city that works for everyone — not just today, but for generations to come.

As a proud Aucklander, I know the challenges we’re facing — from gridlocked traffic and skyrocketing housing costs, to outdated infrastructure and growing inequality. But I also see the opportunity: to turn things around, to be smarter in how we grow, and to build a city that’s more sustainable, more inclusive, and future-ready.

I might be the David in this David and Goliath story, the race to become the first female Mayor of the Auckland Supercity. But what gives me the advantage is my strengths as a genuine leader, which I already apply every day serving Aucklanders as a member of Auckland Council.

I take my job seriously, and I act with integrity – even when the cameras are off. While it’s true that I’m a long-term Labour party member, and I support their kaupapa, experience has taught me that in local government, we don’t vote on party lines.

So, standing as an independent, I might not have the big money machine in my back pocket, but I am free from toeing any party lines and can proudly stand on my principles. Things like restoring our grassroots community services, and securing our irreplacable strategic assets for future generations.

You won’t find me clowning for the cameras or pulling publicity stunts. I’m here to roll up my sleeves, as I have done in my role as the Whau Ward Councillor, and will continue to do the work required as your next Mayor.

I’ll be present, not just for the photo opportunities, but especially when things get tough. I’ll listen, I’ll answer the hard questions, and I’ll stand alongside our communities every step of the way.

Auckland deserves leadership that listens, takes bold action, and plans for the future with purpose.
